Born in Belfast in October 1948 Davida (Dolly as she was to become know) was a pioneer of entrepreneurship among her classmates, she would often be found selling penny sweets to her friends in the playground. Such was her passion for sweets that she became a regular in her local sweet shop on the Cregagh Road.

She soon had an eye for what would sell and would spend many a Saturday helping out at the local shop. Her passion grew and with the help of her mother Cassie and father Davy bought over her childhood sweet shop turning it into one of the best confectionary experiences.

Her dream lives on with a new shop situated on the Shankill Road in Belfast, it carries the deep rooted ideals of Dolly that every child should have a great sweet shop to visit, where dreams are made and appetites are satisfied.

Dolly’s is a modern day version of the childhood dream of a little girl on the Cregagh Road.
